Two elephants carrying the fish and sun insignia of Mughal sovereignty. One of a set of six images from the Mughal emperor's ceremonial procession on the occasion of Id. Two elephants of state. The elephant on the left carries the Mahi Maraatib, or Fish Standard, and the figure on the back of the elephant could well be Zahir Dehlavi, whose official title was the Daroga, or Overseer, of the Mahi Maraatib. India Jane has chosen a selection of licensed images from this important time in British history and reproduced them onto a collection of pristine-white ceramics, from umbrella stands; to boxes, beakers and soap dishes. *Cleaning with a damp cloth is recommended.
